Stand Up: How to Advocate for Your Ideas, Leave an Impression, and Make People Laugh (even if you’re not funny)
- Room: Ballroom B
- Session Number: WC1
Wednesday, May 02, 2018: 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM
As a creative, a big part of your job is to make things—to originate and improve on what’s out there by making something better, more effective, more beautiful.
But there’s more to your life as a creative pro than being a maker. It’s not enough just to create; you need to compel someone to care about it. In this day and age, great work can’t be expected to stand on its own; you need to get in front of people and answer the question, “Why should I care.” And if you can’t do this, there’s a chance you and your work will be overlooked.
You don’t have to be a professional joke writer to get people to laugh, and you don’t have to be a motivational speaker to impress and compel an audience. In this entertaining and interactive session, TEDx-talker, branding pro, stand-up comic and How favorite Terri Trespicio will share insights from TED, comedy, and beyond to help you become a more powerful and memorable presenter of your ideas so that you can get the attention, recognition, and respect you deserve.
