Designers make thousands of decisions over the life of a project that impact quality. But designers work on teams, and it’s not always clear how to incorporate everyone’s input to make the decisions that count. We lose sight of exactly how we ended up with an unsatisfactory design, and it’s difficult to be supportive when a project feels like it’s spinning out of control.

In this talk, we'll share road-tested approaches for how design teams can develop and promote a criteria-driven decision-making process with project stakeholders. With these approaches, you’ll be able to:

  • Establish shared standards for design quality with your teams, and use them as part of your everyday decision making
  • Visualize the tradeoffs between design options before making critical decisions
  • Better manage stakeholder input as part of your team’s decision-making efforts
