A design portfolio is merely the key to the door of opportunity. In order to excel in their career, designers need to think beyond the portfolio. Michael Janda, author of Burn Your Portfolio, will teach attendees how to land a face to face meeting and what to do when they get in the door with potential clients or employers.
Attendees will learn how to secure face to face meetings, cohesively tie their digital brand and their non-digital brand together, differentiate from the competition and increase their chances of landing the job or closing the deal.
Michael Janda is an award-winning leader in the design industry and author of Burn Your Portfolio: Stuff they don’t teach you in design school, but should (New Riders, 2013). He served as a Senior Creative Director at Fox Studios before building and selling his own agency, Riser, where he led his company through more than 2,000 projects for clients including Disney, Google, NBC, ABC, Warner Bros. and more. In 2015, Michael sold Riser to a competing agency where he operated as a partner and Chief Creative Officer for a little more than two years. Throughout a career that spans more than 20 years, Michael has learned the tips and tricks to help your image expand beyond the portfolio.
